Four Regional Blood Centers are constructed in Sindh

KARACHI: Four Regional blood centers are constructed in Sindh. One in Nawabshah is ready to hand over to Sindh Government and centers at Karachi, Jamshoro and Sukkar will be handed over in April 2016.

A meeting was held at secretary health office Karachi where German development Bank Mission met with secretary Health Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo and secretary Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SBTA) Dr. Zahid Ansari. The agenda of the meeting was the establishment of Safe Blood Transfusion Centers in Sindh.

Karachi has 50,000 blood bag storage capacity and rest of 3 centers have 20,000 blood bag capacity each, Secretary SBTA, Dr. Zahid Ansari told "The Times of Karachi".

 

He said that the German development Bank Mission has born the cost of the construction and will provide all state of the Art blood bank equipment.

Zahid Mahmood, Head of German Implementation Firm, Dr. Amir Maqool from Islamabad Health Ministry, Dabeer Ahmed Khan from Sindh Health department and Masooma Zaidi of KFW Bank were also present at the meeting.
