ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Navy’s Command and Staff Conference held at Naval Headquarters, Islamabad. The Conference; chaired by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, was primarily aimed at reviewing Operation Preparedness and Developmental Plans of Pakistan Navy. Chief of the Naval Staff was given detailed briefings on various developmental projects of the Pakistan Navy. The participants of the Conference took a comprehensive review of the prevailing Maritime environment in the region, the priorities and the ongoing projects.

The Navy Chief appreciated the concerted efforts made by all concerned in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get Pakistan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) excluded from Piracy High-Risk Area (HRA). He said that persistent efforts of Pakistan Navy through vigilance and regular contributing of Pakistan Navy Ships for countering piracy has paid the dividends. “This conscious endeavor manifested our resolve not only to keep Pakistani waters remain free from this menace, but to counter piracy beyond its waters as well as to give protection to international shipping traversing through this region”, He said.

While taking stock of the prevalent security environment, Chief of the Naval staff expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy in the face of prevalent maritime challenges. He urged upon all for a judicious utilization of resources provided for maritime defense with greater responsibility, meticulous planning and flawless execution.
Command and Staff Conference is held every quarter and is the apex decision making body of the Pakistan Navy in which all Principal Staff Officers and Filed Commanders undertake a strategic review of Pakistan Navy’s Policies and Plans.
