Private Blood Banks would be shut down if violate standard procedures: Jam Mehtab

KARACHI: Sindh's health minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that many human lives can be saved if the society and particularly young people donate their blood voluntarily and a massive awareness campaign related to it should be launched.

While talking to Dr Zahid Ansari, Secretary Sindh Blood Transfusion Authority (SSBTA), Dahar suggested this on Blood Donors Day in his assembly office on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Dr Zahid briefed the health minister about the measures taken by the SBTA to provide safe blood to the patients.

While directing Secretary SBTA, Dahar said to hold more walks and seminars on the said issue to create awareness about blood donations and to ensure safe blood to the patients.

Provincial Minister for Health also directed to keep a vigilant eye on . He further said that all stakeholders should be taken on board and he requested media as well to come forward and play its role to create awareness among the masses.
