35th CAS Open Golf Championship tees off on 11th February at Karachi

KARACHI: 35th Chief of The Air Staff (CAS) Open Golf Championship is scheduled from 11 to 14 February 2016 at Airmen Golf Course PAF Base, Korangi Creek. More than 300 professional and amateur golfers from all over Pakistan are playing for Rs 3.2 million prize championship. Various categories including professionals, amateurs, veterans master and ladies are participating in the. The championship will continue for 4 days and 18 holes will be played each day.

According to the statement issued by the Spokesman for Pakistan Air Force (PAF), CAS Open Golf Championship, being the flagship Championship of Pakistan Air Force was introduced in 1977 and ever since has been an annual feature in PGF and PAF annual sports calendars. This year the opportunity to host has again been given to AGC for consecutive fourth time.

A Press Conference was held today to officially announce the schedule of the Championship. Group Captain Sabih Wali Ur Rehman welcomed the media and appreciated their support in promoting Golf in the country. He emphasized that Golf may be given more coverage on media to project Pakistan as a sports-loving country. He also said that it would not only help in the promotion of the game but also bring forward the hidden talent.
