Performance of West Zone Police (Karachi Range) in 2015

Decline in various crimes:

• Murders: 58%
• Murders during dacoity: 40%
• Attempt to Murder: 30%
• Extortion: 60%
• Kidnapping for ransom: 65%
• Car snatch and theft: 62%
• Motorcycle snatch and theft: 19%

In 2015, a west zone police encounter with 715 criminals, in which 162 were killed and 269 were injured. While 32 cops embraced martyrdom.

In 2015 west zone police arrested following criminals:

• Target killers: 63
• Other killers: 223
• With explosive: 337
• Extortionist: 104
• Kidnappers: 16
• Dacoits: 629
• With illicit weapon: 2530
• With narcotics: 734
• Absconders and POs: 1089
• Other Arrests: 5298

Total: 11012
Police had also recovered narcotics asunder:

• Charras: 2273.08 Kg
• Heroin: 23.1 Kg
• Bhang: 1445 Kg
• Wines: 485 bottles

In 2015 west zone police recovered huge cache of weapons and ammunition detail as under:

• Pistols and Revolvers: 2620
• Rounds: 31168
• Hand Grenades: 221
• IEDs and fuse: 147Kg and 56 gauges
